ColorsNW – Obama Sweeps Washington State

Sen. Barack Obama decisively won the Washington state caucuses today with 68 percent of the vote to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s 31 percent of the vote.

CNN said the turnout is estimated at double that of the 2004 election.

Obama overwhelmingly won not just liberal Seattle but the Eastside of Seattle as well as the Eastside of the state.

This win joins other wins today in Nebraska (Obama won with 69 percent of the vote) and Louisiana, where the vote is still coming in but the current estimate is 54 percent for Obama. – Naomi Ishisaka, ColorsNW
